About LazyTown
What is the motivation behind LazyTown?
The overarching goal of LazyTown is to motivate kids to live healthier lives. Magnús Scheving, the creator, was motivated by kids and learned from them just how excited they were when they made positive changes in their lives.
LazyTown believes that the best way to get kids to understand this is to inspire them and lead by example. LazyTown delivers positive, healthy messages in an entertaining way. We want to empower kids to get out there and GO! and do things that they haven't done before. more...
The audience, who are "they"?
"They" are kids, 4 - 7. Our experience is that LazyTown is just right for both boys and girls 4 to 7 years old. However, it has proven to be appealing to kids as old as 10 and as young as 2. They? are also parents. All good parents want their children to grow up to be healthy and generous individuals.
What is the origin of LazyTown?LazyTown originates in Iceland, a pristine Nordic country in the middle of the Northern Atlantic. When in doubt, just remember this rule of thumb: Iceland is green and Greenland is icy. Vikings? We haven?t seen any lately. Reykjavik, the home base of LazyTown, is a high-tech modern city full of sophisticated, creative folk. Let?s just say, it isn?t at all what you might imagine. LazyTown has been a well-known property/brand in Iceland for nine years. more...
Why the name LazyTown?Just the name, LazyTown? has a proven appeal. Kids like the name because it?s funny and it seems a little different. The name LazyTown? helps us forge a relationship with kids grounded in fun but grown-ups quickly see past the name and understand that this property is good for kids. We say:
